Managers that shouldn't still be getting jobs Empty Managers that shouldn't still be getting jobs

Post by the_hound Tue Dec 28, 2010 7:23 am

So after a couple of seasons of challenging for Champions league football under O'Neil, Villa are now relegation candidates under Houlier.

Hands up who didn't see this coming?

How many muppet managers are there that keep getting work?

Benitez at Inter! (finally sacked), Pardew now at Newcastle

Glenn Roeder is the all time head scratcher (has he ever been succesful anywhere?)

any others spring to mind?

I quite like Pardew, think he'll do ok at Newcastle, but he won't see out the whole contract

Graeme Souness and Bryan Robson come to mind pretty much straight away, can't see either of them managing in the Premier League again

Rafa Benitez couldnt manage a christmas club.

It baffles me how he could get the Inter job after such abject failure at Liverpool, especially when following on from Jose

I know I always bang on about it, but Sam Allardyce is utter shit. Hope some foreign team gets him so we dont have to watch his teams' pathetic excuse for football ever again on MOTD

rafa is a great manager, FACHT. I see so many media influenced views trying to re-write the outstanding achievements he has made.

Benitez did well at Valencia, and winning the European Cup in his first season at the 'Pool is nowt to be sniffed at.

People are quite extreme in rating him - they either say he is utter shite, or a genius. in fact he is somewhere in the middle, but he did make a hell of a lot of mistakes at the 'pool.

Bryan Robson now manages Thailand and is doing an awful job, but he prob loves it out there with the cheap booze and hookers.

Raga Benitez is the only manager in history to win 2 European trophies consecutively with different teams Smile

Worst manager of all time: for me toss up between Alan Shearer or Les Reed

Possibly the best manager who never managed properly 9just a caretaker spell at West Ham) - Trevor Brooking

All those lads you mentioned have done quite well in the lower leagues I believe. I remember Paul hart doing well at Nott Forest when they were totally skint, and might have been the guy who found Bale and Ramsey, but would have to check that....

Hart was alright at Forest, he did sign the likes of Danny Sonner and Gareth Dickhead Taylor.

He was okay, we had one amazing season under Hart but lets not go mad. He did bring us the likes of Jenas, Dawson, McGugan, Reid and Dawson.

Can't wait for McGugan to show Messi how it's done (this may not be true).

I thought Hart was responsible for some of the young lads coming through the ranks at Forest.

Made a mistake in the previous post by naming young players from Southampton not Forest!

But not the worst coach of all time...

He was, was head of the academy before he replaced David Cuntface Platt.

He wasn't the worst but since Forest he's not done anything of note.

Forest are still suffering from Platt and he left in 1999?

Shocking manager, spunked a load of money on footballers more akin to League 2 then gunning for the Prem.

Wasn't he at Sampdoria as well for a bit?

How about Iain Dowie, 12 games at Charlton - and they've never recovered, and are now in league 1!

Think he was, spunked loadsa money at Forest for a player from Sampdoria.

Iain Dowie is always linked with Forest every time where after a new manager, hate him, joke of a football manager.

Dowie is living of that half a season when he took Palce from relegation zone at christmas to winning the play offs, other than that he's done nothing
